Speed Up Your Storage System

Increase Hopper Transfer Rate

If items are backing up in your storage system or moving too slowly between chests and hoppers, you can speed up the transfer rate.

Use the command:

/gamerule hopperTickSpeed [number]

`

Replace [number] with a lower value than the default. Lower numbers mean faster transfers. For example, setting it to 4 will make hoppers transfer twice as fast as the default.

Move More Items Per Transfer

If you want hoppers to move larger quantities at once, adjust:

/gamerule hopperItemsPerTransfer [1-64]

`

Higher values mean more items move in a single transfer cycle. This is especially useful for high-volume farms or sorting systems where you need to process large amounts quickly.

Test and Adjust

Start with moderate changes and test your system. Very low tick speeds or very high item counts can cause lag or create unintended behavior in your automation chains. Find the balance that works for your setup.
