How to Make Grass, Podzol, and Nylium Show Their Top Texture on All Sides

What the Pack Actually Changes

Fast Better Grass works by swapping the vanilla block models for the affected blocks so that the side faces reference the top texture instead of the dedicated side texture. Because it is a resource pack, you do not need to enable any in-game option — simply having the pack active above the default pack is enough. The blocks affected are grass block, snow-covered grass block, dirt path, podzol, mycelium, warped nylium, and crimson nylium.

Verifying It Is Working

1. Place a grass block, a podzol block, and a warped nylium block next to each other in a creative test world.

2. Look at the sides of each block from ground level. If the pack is active, the side faces should match the top face rather than showing the usual dirt or stem texture.

3. If a block still shows its vanilla side texture, check your resource pack order — the pack must sit above any other pack that also edits those block models.

4. Remember that the change is purely visual. Block behavior, drops, and spread mechanics are untouched, so you can build with these blocks exactly as before.

Common Confusion

Players sometimes expect the underside to change too. It does not — only the side faces are redirected to the top texture, which is what gives the seamless "better grass" look.
