Create Your First World Backup

Starting a Backup

Fast Backups Mod makes creating snapshots of your world simple. Open your inventory and look for the backup interface—this is typically accessible via a command or dedicated button depending on your mod configuration.

Taking the Snapshot

1. Access the backup menu while in your world

2. Select the option to create a new backup or snapshot

3. Optionally name your backup to identify it later (e.g., "Before Mining Trip" or "Post-Build v1")

4. Confirm the backup action

The mod will capture only the changed blocks and data since your last backup, making this process much faster than traditional world duplication. Your first backup may take slightly longer as it establishes a baseline, but subsequent backups will be noticeably quicker.

After Backup

Once complete, your snapshot is stored efficiently using Git-based compression. You can now continue playing safely, knowing your progress is preserved. Multiple backups stack without consuming excessive disk space, so don't hesitate to create snapshots before major projects or risky ventures.
