FarmProtect Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start protecting my crops?
The plugin activates automatically once installed—all supported crops (wheat, carrots, potatoes, melons, and pumpkins) are protected from trampling by default. No setup is required unless you want to customize settings in the config.yml file.
What happens if I break a farmland block with my hand?
The farmland block will disappear and drop as an item, since the plugin only prevents trampling damage, not direct destruction. This is intentional to allow you to manage your farm manually.
Can I protect crops in multiple worlds at once?
Yes—use `/farmprotect toggle multiworld` to enable multi-world support, then use `/farmprotect add ` to protect specific worlds. By default, only the current world is protected.
Does this plugin protect crops from explosions?
No by default, but you can enable explosion protection with `/farmprotect toggle explosionprotect` if you also have the ExplosionProtect plugin installed.
I changed the config but nothing happened—what do I do?
Run `/farmprotect reload` to apply your configuration changes without restarting the server.
Will this plugin slow down my server?
No—FarmProtect is designed to be lightweight and should have minimal performance impact on your server.
How do I turn off update checking?
Open plugins/FarmProtect/config.yml and set `UpdateCheck` and `AutoUpdate` to `false`, then run `/farmprotect reload`.
Can I opt out of bStats data collection?
Yes—go to plugins/bstats/config.yml and disable data collection there. This is separate from the FarmProtect config.
What crops does this plugin protect?
FarmProtect protects wheat, carrots, potatoes, melons, pumpkins, and seeds from trampling damage.
Can I give players permission to reload the config?
Yes—assign them the `farmprotect.reload` permission node to allow `/farmprotect reload` access, or use `farmprotect.toggle.*` for all toggle commands.
