Farm Assistant Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start using Farm Assistant for the first time?
Hold a seed in your hand, stand at one end of your farm row, look straight down the row you want to plant, and right-click the first soil block. The plugin will plant seeds across the entire row using only the seeds in your inventory.
Why isn't the plugin planting in the direction I want?
Turn your character slightly left or right before you right-click to tell the plugin which direction to expand. The direction you're facing when you start determines which way the farm grows.
Can I harvest only ripe crops and leave immature ones?
Yes—break just one fully grown crop in your field and the plugin will harvest only mature plants in that row, leaving unripe ones to continue growing.
Does the plugin work with melons and pumpkins?
Yes, the plugin supports melons and pumpkins and will harvest the fruit blocks while leaving the stems intact so they can grow more.
How do I set up sugar cane or bamboo farming along water?
Plant sugar cane or bamboo normally using the plugin—it will follow the shape of your farm and plant along water banks or any irregular pattern you've set up.
What happens to items when I harvest—do they go to my inventory?
By default, harvested items go straight into your inventory. You can change this with `/farmassistant toInventory` to make items drop on the ground instead.
Is there a limit to how many blocks the plugin can harvest at once?
Yes, the server admin sets a harvest limit (default is 256 blocks per click). If your field is larger, you'll need to harvest it in multiple clicks.
Can I turn off planting or harvesting for specific crops?
Yes—use `/farmassistant plant ` or `/farmassistant harvest ` to toggle those features for individual crop types.
Does the plugin work in survival mode?
Yes, it works perfectly in survival mode and only uses seeds you actually have in your inventory, keeping the game fair and balanced.
Can server admins control how the plugin works?
Yes, admins can set global rules with commands like `/farmassistant admin harvestLimit` and configure settings in the config file, while players can adjust their own farming preferences.
