Fancy Door Animations Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need to install this mod on the server to see door animations?
No. Fancy Door Animations is a client-side mod, so you'll see the animations on any server even if the server doesn't have it installed. Other players without the mod won't see your animations, but they won't interfere with gameplay.
How do I turn off animations for just one door?
You can disable animations for specific doors through the mod's configuration file or in-game settings menu. Look for per-block or per-location options in your config to exclude individual doors from animating.
My doors aren't animating at all. What's wrong?
First, check that the mod is actually loaded in your mods folder and appears in your mod list. If it's loaded, verify that door animations aren't disabled globally in the config file, and try removing any conflicting mods that also modify door behavior.
Can I make doors open and close faster or slower?
Yes. The mod includes a configuration option to adjust the animation speed. You can increase it to make doors swing faster or decrease it for slower, more dramatic movements.
Do trapdoors animate the same way as regular doors?
Trapdoors animate with the same smooth motion as regular doors and iron doors, rotating naturally instead of snapping open or closed.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is lightweight and only affects what you see on your client, so it shouldn't cause noticeable performance problems on most systems. If you experience lag, try lowering the animation speed in the config.
Do redstone-activated doors animate, or only player-opened ones?
All doors animate regardless of what opens them—whether it's a player, redstone signal, piston, or mob. The animation plays every time the door changes state.
Does this work with custom resource packs?
Yes. The mod respects custom resource packs and textures, so your doors will animate smoothly while keeping their custom appearance.
Can I disable animations for iron doors but keep them for wooden doors?
Yes. The mod's configuration allows you to enable or disable animations by door type, so you can animate only wooden doors, only iron doors, or both.
What happens if I use this mod with other mods that change door behavior?
Conflicts are possible if another mod also modifies door animations or physics. If doors behave strangely, try disabling the other mod temporarily to identify the conflict, or check if either mod has compatibility settings.
