Taming Your First Familiar

Finding a Familiar

Familiars spawn naturally in the world depending on your biome and mod configuration. Look for small creatures that differ from standard Minecraft mobs. They may appear passive or neutral initially.

Taming Process

Approach the familiar carefully—sudden movements may startle it. You'll need a taming item specific to that familiar type. Interact with the familiar while holding the correct item. The familiar will show visual feedback (hearts, particles, or a taming bar) as it becomes accustomed to you.

Once tamed, the familiar becomes bound to you and will follow you around. It will gain experience and grow stronger over time. Keep your familiar safe from hostile mobs, as they can be defeated like any other entity.

Managing Your Familiar

Your familiar can be stored in a Familiar Bed when you're not using it. This keeps it safe and allows you to carry multiple familiars without cluttering your world. You can summon it again by interacting with the bed. Familiars gain benefits from being near you, including experience and stat growth.
