How version checks work

Many mods include code that checks your loader version before allowing the game to start. If the version doesn't match their requirements, they block launch entirely. This is a safety feature, but it can prevent you from playing if your loader is slightly out of sync.

Using the fake loader to pass checks

The fake loader mod intercepts these version checks and reports the number you need, without actually changing any mod files or their behavior. This means:

• The mod you want to play runs normally
• No files are corrupted or modified
• The check passes silently
• Your game launches as expected

This approach is safer than manually editing mod files because it leaves everything intact. If you later update your actual loader, you can simply remove the fake loader mod and everything continues working.
