Measure Distance Between Two Points

Reading the Block Counting HUD

The Block Counting HUD displays coordinate differences and total distance to your targeted block, making it easy to measure gaps, heights, and horizontal spans across your build.

Steps

1. Look at any block you want to measure from

2. The HUD will appear showing three values: X, Y, and Z coordinate differences

3. These numbers represent how many blocks apart you are on each axis

4. The HUD also displays the total Manhattan distance (sum of all three axes)

5. Move to a second location and look at another block to compare measurements

Practical Uses

Use this for:

  • Ensuring symmetrical builds (matching X distances on both sides)
  • Calculating fall heights for damage traps
  • Verifying spacing between repeating structures
  • Planning staircase lengths and slopes
  • Aligning distant structures without counting manually

The coordinate-based approach is more reliable than visual estimation, especially for large builds.
