How do I activate the holographic preview?
Look at a functional block (like a repeater, observer, or piston) while holding it in your hand, and the hologram will display automatically showing you exactly how it will be oriented when placed. The preview updates in real-time as you move and rotate.
Can I use the distance measuring tool in Survival mode?
Yes, the Block Counting HUD works in both Survival and Creative modes. Look at any block and it will display the X, Y, Z coordinate differences and total Manhattan distance from your position.
What's the difference between Manhattan distance and regular distance?
Manhattan distance counts the total steps you'd need to walk along the X, Y, and Z axes separately (like navigating city blocks), while regular distance is the straight-line measurement through space. The mod shows you both values so you can plan builds accurately.
How many graffiti markers can I place?
You can place four different colored visual marks on blocks using the radial wheel menu. These markers are private to you and help you organize and plan your building projects.
Do the graffiti markers disappear when I reload the world?
Graffiti markers are saved with your world, so they persist even after you close and reopen Minecraft. They're stored as private data and won't be visible to other players on multiplayer servers.
Can I highlight blocks that are far away or behind walls?
The highlight feature works on blocks within your normal reach distance and line of sight. You cannot highlight blocks through walls, but you can highlight blocks at extended distances if you can see them directly.
Does the mod work on multiplayer servers?
Facet Mod is a client-side mod, so it works on any server without requiring the server to have it installed. Your markers and highlights are only visible to you.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Facet Mod is designed to be lightweight since it only renders visual overlays on your client. Performance impact is minimal, but rendering many holograms or highlights at once in very large builds may cause minor frame rate changes depending on your system.
Can I turn off specific features if I don't use them?
Most Facet Mod features can be toggled on or off through the mod's settings menu, allowing you to disable tools you don't need and reduce visual clutter.
Why isn't the holographic preview showing up for my block?
The preview only works for functional blocks with rotational properties (like repeaters, observers, pistons, and similar redstone components). Regular blocks like dirt or stone won't display a preview since their orientation doesn't matter.
