How to Set a Different Skin Per World in Fabric Tailor

Why Per-World Skins Matter

Fabric Tailor stores skin assignments per world, so a roleplay character, a themed survival base, and a creative test world can each have their own look. You do not need to re-enter your skin every time you load a world once it has been set.

Setting It Up

1. Load the world you want to customize.

2. Open the skin menu with the keybind (default K) or run /skin.

3. Choose your source: player name, URL, or local file.

4. Apply the skin and confirm it looks right on your character.

5. Leave the world and load a different one. Repeat the process with a different skin.

Each world remembers its own assignment. When you return to a world, the skin you set there is reapplied automatically.

Capes Too

Capes follow the same per-world logic. If you want a cape only in one world, set it there and leave it unset elsewhere. The mod will fetch a matching cape from the source when one is available, or you can upload a custom cape file.

Tips

Keep local PNG files in a dedicated folder so you can find them quickly when setting up new worlds. If a world's skin looks wrong after a mod update, just reopen the menu and reapply.
