How to Use Extra Gore With Modded Mobs and Other Mods

Extra Gore works out of the box for vanilla mobs, but modded creatures and other visual mods can interact with it in ways that surprise players. Here is how to get predictable results.

Modded Mobs

Modded mobs are not in the mod's default mapping, so they fall back to a generic color. If you want a specific modded creature to bleed a particular color, add an entry for its registry name in the config, exactly as you would for a vanilla mob. You can find the registry name in the mod's own files or by checking the entity's ID in-game with a debugging tool.

Conflicts With Other Mods

Mods that replace mob rendering, damage flashes, or particle systems can visually clash with Extra Gore. If blood particles look wrong or do not appear at all, temporarily disable the other visual mod to confirm the conflict, then decide which one you prefer.

Performance Mods

Performance mods that cull particles or entities may suppress blood effects at distance. If blood only shows up when you are close, that is usually the culling mod doing its job, not a bug. Loosen its particle culling settings if you want blood visible from farther away.
