Extra Gore Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on blood particles in Extra Gore?
Blood particles are enabled by default once the mod is installed, so simply hitting a mob should make it bleed. If nothing appears, check that the mod is actually loaded and that particles are not disabled in your video settings.
Why do zombies and creepers bleed green instead of red?
Extra Gore colors particles based on the mob's characteristics rather than using one universal color. Hostile undead and monster-type mobs like zombies, creepers and witches splash green, while normal living mobs like villagers splash red.
How do I change a mob's blood color?
Color is tied to the mob's type or entity data, so you change it by editing the mod's config entries for that mob rather than through an in-game menu. Look for the mob's entry in the config file and set its particle color there.
Can I disable blood for just one mob and keep it for others?
Yes, the config lets you toggle blood per mob instead of globally. Find the mob's entry and turn its blood effect off while leaving the rest of the list enabled.
Does Extra Gore work with modded mobs?
Modded mobs usually bleed only if they are registered in the config or inherit from a vanilla mob type the mod already recognizes. If a modded mob doesn't bleed, add or enable its entry in the config.
Why is my game lagging when lots of mobs are hit?
Each hit spawns multiple particles, so large fights or mob farms can pile up particle counts fast. Lower your Minecraft particle setting and reduce the particle amount in the mod's config to cut the load.
How do I reduce the number of blood particles?
Open the mod's config and lower the particle count or density value for blood effects. Combined with a lower in-game particle setting, this keeps the effect visible without the performance hit.
Do blood particles show on servers or only in singleplayer?
The mod needs to be installed on the client to render the particles, and on the server for the effect to trigger for all players. If only the client has it, you may see particles locally but others won't.
Why don't I see any blood when I hit a mob?
Common causes are the in-game particle setting being set to minimal or off, the mob being disabled in the config, or the mod not being loaded. Check your video particle setting first, then the config.
Can I make blood particles stain blocks or leave decals?
Extra Gore focuses on splash particles on hit rather than persistent block decals. If you want blood that stays on the ground or walls, you'd need a separate mod that adds that behavior.
