How to Make Mobs Bleed the Correct Color (Red vs Green)
One of the most common questions about Extra Gore is why a zombie or creeper is splashing red instead of green, or why a villager is bleeding the wrong shade. The mod decides color based on the mob's characteristics, but that logic can be overridden.
How the Mod Picks a Color
By default, human-like and passive mobs such as villagers bleed red, while undead and monster mobs such as zombies, creepers and witches bleed green. This is handled automatically through the mod's internal mapping, so you normally do not need to do anything.
Fixing a Wrong Color
If a mob is bleeding the wrong color, the cause is almost always a config entry overriding the default. Open the mod's config file and find the mob's registry name. Change the color value to the one you want, or delete the entry so the mod falls back to its automatic rule. Save and restart.
If a modded mob is bleeding an odd color, it is because the mod does not recognize that entity and is using a fallback. Add an explicit entry for that mob's registry name to control it. Keep a backup of the config before making bulk edits.
