How to Enable or Disable Blood Particles for Specific Mobs

Extra Gore is mostly a visual mod, but it does expose a config file so you can decide which mobs bleed and what color their blood is. This is the first place to look if a particular mob is splashing the wrong color or you want to turn the effect off entirely for one creature.

Finding the Config

After the mod has run once, look in your Minecraft config folder for a file named after the mod (something like extragore or extra_gore). Open it with any text editor. Inside you will usually find a list or map of entity IDs paired with a color value, plus a toggle for whether the mod is active at all.

Editing Entries

Each line typically maps a mob's registry name to a color. To change a mob's blood, edit the color value next to its name. To stop a mob from bleeding, remove its entry or set its value to something that disables it, depending on how the file is structured. Save the file and restart the game — config changes are not applied live.

If you are unsure what a value does, back up the file before editing. A malformed config can stop the mod from loading, and restoring the backup is the fastest fix.
