Switching Between Tools and Light Sources While Mining

Efficient Hotbar Management

Place your 3D lantern or torch in one hotbar slot and your mining tools (pickaxe, shovel) in adjacent slots. This allows you to quickly switch between holding your light source for visibility and equipping your tools for gathering resources.

Workflow for Cave Mining

When you enter a dark cave, equip your lantern or torch first to light your surroundings and get oriented. Once you've found ore or resources to mine, switch to your pickaxe. After mining, you can switch back to your light source to continue exploring and finding more resources.

Balancing Immersion and Efficiency

While constantly switching might seem tedious, it actually enhances immersion—you're managing your equipment like a real adventurer would. However, if you prefer pure efficiency, you can also use other light sources like placing torches on walls, which frees your hands for tools while maintaining visibility.
