Troubleshoot When the Compass Doesn't Find a Structure

Common Reasons for No Results

Sometimes the compass won't locate a structure type. This usually happens when no buildings of that type exist within the searchable range, or the structure generation settings have been modified.

What to Check

1. Verify the Structure Exists: Some structure types may not generate in your world depending on your game version or world settings

2. Check Your Location: You may already be inside the only nearby structure of that type—travel further away and try again

3. Confirm Mod Installation: Ensure both the original Explorer's Compass and the Addon are properly installed in your mods folder

4. Try a Different Structure: Test with a common structure type (like Villages) to confirm the compass is working

5. Explore Further: Structures have generation limits; traveling to unexplored chunks may reveal new options

If Problems Persist

Verify that your world was created with structure generation enabled. Some custom world types or heavily modified servers may disable certain structures. In these cases, the compass cannot locate what doesn't exist in your world.
