Read Distance and Coordinates from the Compass Display
Understanding the On-Screen Information
When you hold the Explorer's Compass, it displays real-time data about your target structure. Learning to read this information helps you navigate accurately.
What the Display Shows
1. Structure Name: The type of building you're searching for appears at the top
2. Distance: The number of blocks between you and the target structure
3. Coordinates: The exact X, Y, Z position of the structure in your world
4. Direction Indicator: The compass needle points toward the target
Using This Information
- Watch the distance number decrease as you move closer to the structure
- Use the coordinates to mark waypoints in your map or journal
- If the distance stops decreasing, check the compass direction—you may have veered off course
- The coordinates remain visible as long as you hold the compass, allowing you to plan your route before traveling
- Write down coordinates of interesting structures you find for later visits
