Expanded Weaponry FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I craft my first weapon in Expanded Weaponry?
Start by gathering standard Minecraft materials like wood, stone, or iron, then open your crafting table. Weapons follow the same crafting patterns as vanilla tools—arrange your chosen material in the appropriate shape for the weapon type you want (daggers are narrower, hammers are wider, etc.). Check the crafting recipes in your inventory or JEI/NEI if you have those mods installed.
What's the difference between a Greatsword and a Hammer?
Greatswords swing faster and have longer reach to keep enemies at distance, while Hammers swing slowly but deal massive damage and can defeat most enemies in just two hits. Choose Greatswords for crowd control and Hammers when you want raw power against tough single targets.
Do heavy armor sets really slow you down that much?
Yes, heavy armor noticeably reduces your movement speed as a trade-off for extra protection and knockback resistance. If mobility is important for your playstyle, stick with standard armor or mix heavy pieces with lighter ones rather than wearing a full heavy set.
What ammo should I use for my
Slingshot?
Slingshots accept flint, iron nuggets, gold nuggets, and copper nuggets as ammunition. Flint is the cheapest option since you can get it from gravel, making it ideal for setting up an ammo farm.
How do upgraded shields work differently from regular shields?
Upgraded shields block a higher percentage of incoming damage and recover faster after being hit by an axe. The amount of damage blocked depends on the shield's material tier, so diamond shields are more effective than wooden ones.
Can I use Daggers and Twin Blade Swords together?
Daggers are single-handed fast weapons for quick hits on weak enemies, while Twin Blade Swords are two-handed and swing fast for crowd clearing. You can't dual-wield daggers, but Twin Blade Swords are better if you want to use both hands for maximum attack speed.
Is the Longbow better than a
Slingshot?
Longbows deal more damage per shot and are better for taking down tough enemies from range, but they're slower to fire. Slingshots are faster and cheaper to maintain, so pick Longbows for power and Slingshots for sustained rapid fire.
Do these new weapons work with enchantments?
Yes, all Expanded Weaponry weapons and armor can be enchanted just like vanilla gear. Enchantments apply the same way—use an enchanting table, anvil, or enchanted books to add effects to your custom equipment.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
Expanded Weaponry is lightweight and shouldn't cause performance problems on most systems. If you experience lag, it's more likely from other mods or too many entities; the weapon and armor additions themselves have minimal impact.
What's the best weapon for fighting the Ender Dragon?
A Greatsword or Hammer works well depending on your style—Greatswords let you keep distance while attacking quickly, while Hammers deal heavy damage if you can get close. Pair either with an upgraded shield and heavy armor for survivability, and use a
