How to Tell If Exordium Is Actually Improving Your Framerate

Exordium only helps in specific situations, so it can be hard to know whether it is working. This guide walks you through checking its effect without guessing.

Where Exordium Helps

Exordium caps how often the GUI redraws. That means the biggest gains show up when a GUI is open — your inventory, a chest, a crafting table, or any modded screen. When no GUI is open, Exordium has little to do, so do not expect a large jump while just walking around.

Measuring the Difference

1. Enable the F3 debug overlay so you can read your framerate.

2. Stand somewhere consistent, like your base, so the scene does not change between tests.

3. Open a GUI and note the framerate with Exordium enabled.

4. Disable Exordium (or raise its GUI framerate cap to match the world) and repeat the same test.

5. Compare the two numbers while the GUI is open.

Interpreting Results

If the framerate while a GUI is open is higher with Exordium enabled, it is doing its job. If there is no difference, your bottleneck is likely world rendering, entity count, or shaders rather than GUI drawing. In that case, lower your render distance or reduce entity-heavy areas before blaming Exordium. Also check that you did not accidentally set the GUI framerate cap so high that it matches the world framerate, which would nullify the mod's effect.
