How to Configure Exordium's GUI Framerate Settings

Exordium's whole purpose is to render the GUI at a lower framerate than the world so your CPU and GPU can spend more time on terrain, entities, and lighting. To get the benefit, you need to actually lower the GUI framerate rather than leaving it at the default.

Finding the Settings

Open the mod's config screen. Exordium is a Fabric mod, so depending on what you have installed you will reach it either through the Mod Menu config button next to the Exordium entry, or through the config file in your instance's config folder. The main option you care about is the GUI framerate target — the value that caps how often the interface redraws.

Choosing a Value

Lower values free up more resources but make the GUI feel choppier. A good approach is to start conservative, play for a few minutes, and adjust:

1. Set the GUI framerate noticeably below your normal framerate cap.

2. Open your inventory, a chest, and a crafting table to feel how the interface responds.

3. If menus feel sluggish, raise the value; if you want more headroom for the world, lower it.

4. Check your F3 overlay while a GUI is open to confirm the world framerate is holding up.

Remember the cap only affects GUI rendering — the world itself still renders at your normal framerate, so you are not sacrificing gameplay smoothness.
