Change the Number of Blocks Mined at Once
Locating the Configuration File
The Excavar mod stores its settings in a configuration file. Navigate to your Minecraft installation folder, then open the config directory. Look for the Excavar configuration file (typically named something like excavar.toml or similar).
Editing the Block Count
Open the configuration file with a text editor. Find the setting that controls the maximum number of blocks destroyed per activation—this is usually labeled as something like max_blocks or block_count. The default value is set to 16.
Change this number to your preferred value. Lower numbers (like 8) make mining slower but more controlled. Higher numbers (like 32) speed up resource gathering significantly but consume more durability on your tool.
Applying Changes
Save the file and restart Minecraft completely. The new block count will take effect when you next load a world. If changes don't apply, verify you edited the correct file and that Minecraft fully closed before restarting.
Test the new setting by holding the activation key (default: left-alt) while mining to confirm the block count matches your configuration.
