Excavar Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start using Excavar?
Hold down the default keybind (Left Alt) while mining to destroy multiple blocks at once. You'll see blocks around your target break simultaneously up to the configured limit.
Can I change the keybind?
Yes, open your configuration file and modify the keybind setting to any key you prefer. After saving, restart your game or reload the config for changes to take effect.
How many blocks can I mine at once?
By default, Excavar mines up to 16 blocks simultaneously, but you can adjust this number in the mod's configuration file to suit your preference.
Will Excavar destroy my tools faster?
Yes, mining multiple blocks at once uses more durability than normal mining. To preserve your tools, either use Excavar selectively, increase your tool durability through enchantments like Unbreaking, or lower the block count in the config.
Does Excavar work on all block types?
Excavar works on most mineable blocks, but some blocks like obsidian or bedrock may have different behavior depending on your tool and the mod's settings. You can configure which blocks are affected in the configuration file.
Why isn't Excavar working?
Check that the mod is properly installed, the keybind isn't conflicting with another mod, and you're holding the correct key. If still broken, verify your configuration file isn't corrupted and try resetting it to defaults.
Can I use Excavar underwater or in the Nether?
Yes, Excavar works in all dimensions and environments where normal mining is possible, including underwater and in the Nether.
Does Excavar affect my FPS or cause lag?
Mining many blocks at once can cause minor performance dips depending on your computer and settings. If you experience lag, try lowering the maximum block count in the configuration.
Will Excavar work with other mining mods?
Excavar generally works alongside other mods, but conflicts can occur if multiple mods modify mining behavior. Test compatibility in a separate world if you're unsure.
How do I mine only specific blocks with Excavar?
Check your mod's configuration file for block filtering or whitelist options that let you restrict Excavar to certain block types, or use it selectively by only activating it when mining those blocks.
