Excalibur Fresh Animations Patch Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Why do my textures look wrong when I use Excalibur with Fresh Animations?
This patch exists specifically to fix texture conflicts between those two packs. Make sure the patch is loaded at the very top of your resource pack list, above Fresh Animations, so it can override and correct the incompatible texture layers.
What order should my resource packs be in?
From bottom to top: base Excalibur pack, then Excalibur Clarent Edition, then Fresh Animations, then Freshly Modded (if using Guard Villagers), and finally this patch at the very top. The patch must be highest to apply its fixes correctly.
Do I need Clarent Edition to use this patch?
No, Clarent Edition is optional. The patch works with just the base Excalibur pack and Fresh Animations, but if you have Clarent Edition installed, make sure it's positioned correctly in your load order so the patch can support it.
How do I get Guard Villagers to look right with this patch?
You need to load the Freshly Modded Resource Pack in addition to the other packs, positioned above Fresh Animations but below this patch. The patch will then apply custom textures to Guard Villagers so they match the medieval style.
My mobs are still moving stiffly even with Fresh Animations enabled
Check that Fresh Animations is actually loaded and positioned correctly—it should be above the base Excalibur pack but below this patch. If it's in the wrong spot, the animations won't apply properly.
Can I use this patch with other animation packs besides Fresh Animations?
This patch is specifically designed to bridge Excalibur and Fresh Animations together. Using it with other animation packs may cause conflicts or unpredictable results.
Why do some blocks look misaligned or have missing textures?
This usually means the load order is incorrect or the patch isn't loaded. Verify the patch is at the very top of your resource pack list, and that all required packs (base Excalibur and Fresh Animations) are present and in the right positions.
Does this patch affect performance or cause lag?
The patch itself is lightweight and shouldn't cause lag. If you're experiencing performance issues, it's more likely from Fresh Animations or having too many resource packs loaded simultaneously.
Will the medieval look of Excalibur be ruined by realistic mob animations?
No, that's exactly what this patch prevents. It keeps Excalibur's classic medieval textures intact while Fresh Animations only changes how mobs move, so your world stays cohesive.
I added a new resource pack but now textures are broken again
Any new pack you add needs to be positioned correctly in the load order, and this patch must remain at the very top. If you're unsure where a pack should go, check its documentation or try placing it between Fresh Animations and this patch.
