Make Mobs Blink Naturally

Understand Blinking Requirements

ETF enables blinking animations for mobs by using custom entity texture packs. Blinking works on most creatures—zombies, skeletons, endermen, and passive animals all support eye animations.

Install a Compatible Resource Pack

Download or create a resource pack designed for ETF that includes blinking eye textures. These packs contain animation metadata files (typically JSON) that define when and how often mobs blink. Place the resource pack in your resource packs folder and activate it in your world settings.

Configure Blink Frequency

Some resource packs allow you to adjust blink timing through their configuration files. Check the pack's documentation for settings that control blink intervals and duration.

Observe the Effect

Load into your world and watch mobs closely. You'll notice their eyes close and open at natural intervals, making creatures feel more alive and reactive. The effect is most noticeable on mobs with prominent eyes like spiders, endermen, or custom-textured animals.

If blinking doesn't appear, verify your resource pack is ETF-compatible and that the mod is properly loaded.
