Create a Custom Glowing Skin
Prepare Your Skin File
Start with your existing player skin file (a 64×64 PNG image). You'll need to edit it to add glow layers that will make parts of your character emit light.
Add Glow Texture Layers
ETF uses a dedicated glow map layer in your skin file. Create a new layer in your image editor and paint the areas you want to glow—common choices are eyes, jewelry, or magical markings. Use bright colors on this layer; they'll appear as emissive light in-game.
Save your modified skin as a PNG file with the glow information included in the appropriate channel or as a separate texture variant, depending on your mod version's format.
Load Your Skin
Place your custom skin file in the ETF configuration folder (usually .minecraft/config/etf/ or your resource pack's player textures directory). The mod will automatically detect and apply the glow effects when you load the world.
Test In-Game
Join a world and check your character in a dark area or at night. The glowing parts should emit light and be visible even in caves. Adjust your glow layer brightness if the effect is too subtle or overwhelming.
