Eternal Pets Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do my pets respawn automatically or do I need to do something?
Pets respawn automatically after they die—you don't need to do anything. They'll come back after the configured respawn delay, appearing at your world spawn point.
Where do my pets respawn?
Your pets respawn at the world spawn location, which is typically where you first spawned when creating the world. You'll need to travel there to find and retrieve your pet.
How long does it take for a pet to respawn?
The respawn time is configurable, so it depends on your mod settings. Check your mod config file to see what delay is currently set, or adjust it to your preference.
Can I stop a specific pet from respawning?
Yes, you can prevent individual pets from respawning by marking them as non-respawning through the mod's mechanics—check the guide on preventing pet respawning for the specific method.
Does this work with all pets or just some?
The mod only applies to wolves, cats, and parrots. Other pet types won't respawn with this mod installed.
What happens if my world spawn is in the middle of the ocean?
Your pet will still respawn at world spawn even if it's in water or an inconvenient location. You may want to set up a safe area near spawn or use commands to change your spawn point before your pet dies.
If I die, does my pet respawn too?
Yes, if your pet dies at any time—whether you die or not—it will respawn according to the mod's settings. Your death and your pet's death are separate events.
Can I change the respawn location to somewhere other than world spawn?
The mod respawns pets at world spawn by default. Check your mod configuration to see if there are options to customize the respawn location.
Does this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is lightweight since it only tracks a few pet types and triggers respawns at set intervals. Performance impact should be minimal on most systems.
Will this mod work with other pet mods?
Eternal Pets Mod only affects wolves, cats, and parrots—the vanilla pet types. It won't interfere with other pet mods, but it also won't make pets from other mods respawn.
