Enable Combat Animations on Your Custom Player Model

Activating Combat Mode

Once EpicYSM is installed alongside Yes Steve Model and a combat mod (like Epic Fight), combat animations activate automatically when you enter combat. You don't need to toggle anything manually—the mod detects when you're in a fight and applies battle poses to your custom model.

Verifying Your Model Works

Load into a world and equip a weapon. Attack a mob or another player. Your custom model should now perform:

  • Attack combos — multi-hit sequences instead of the default swing
  • Dodge rolls — if your combat mod supports them
  • Guard poses — defensive stances when blocking
  • Weapon skills — special abilities tied to your equipped weapon

If animations don't appear, confirm that:

1. Your .ysm model file is properly loaded in Yes Steve Model

2. The combat mod (Epic Fight) is active and updated

3. You're holding a valid weapon item

Outside combat, your model returns to normal walk cycles and idle poses. Custom emotes continue working in all modes.
