Clearing a Castle for Your Own Swamp Base

Preparing for Combat

Witch hut castles are occupied structures. Before claiming one as your base, you'll need to deal with the witches inside. Bring combat gear, healing potions, and a weapon—witches drink healing potions when damaged, so expect a prolonged fight.

Clearing Strategy

Work systematically through the structure:

• Enter from ground level and work upward through towers and rooms
• Use ranged weapons (bow or crossbow) to engage witches from a distance
• Watch for witches retreating to drink potions; use this time to reposition
• Clear one section completely before moving to the next to avoid being surrounded

Securing the Space

Once witches are eliminated:

• Light the interior with torches or lanterns to prevent respawning
• Seal off any openings to the outside
• Remove water sources if they interfere with your plans
• The vanilla stone blocks are perfect for modifications—add your own rooms, storage, or decorations

The castle's existing architecture provides excellent defensive walls and multiple levels for creative building. Use the structure as a foundation for your swamp base rather than demolishing it entirely.
