How to Block, Dodge, and Parry

Blocking Attacks

Hold right-click while wielding a weapon capable of blocking (typically swords and shields). A blocking stance appears, reducing incoming damage. You cannot move while blocking, so positioning matters.

Dodging and Rolling

Press your dodge key (default: double-tap a movement key or use a dedicated keybind) to perform a quick roll in that direction. Dodging has a cooldown and uses stamina. Time your dodges to avoid incoming attacks—successful dodges grant brief invulnerability frames.

Parrying

Parry by blocking at the exact moment an enemy attack connects. Successful parries stun the attacker briefly, opening them to counterattacks. This requires timing but deals no damage to you and leaves enemies vulnerable.

Stamina Management

Blocking, dodging, and heavy attacks all consume stamina. Let your stamina regenerate between defensive actions. Running out of stamina leaves you unable to dodge or block, so manage your resources carefully during prolonged fights.
