Manage Mob Spawning and Prevent Specific Creatures

Banning Mob Spawns Temporarily

Stop certain mob types from appearing in your world for a set duration.

1. Use /eca banSpawn <mob_type> <seconds> to prevent that mob from spawning

2. The ban applies to the current dimension only

3. After the duration expires, the mob type can spawn normally again

4. Clear all active spawn bans immediately with /eca banSpawn clear

Practical Applications

Spawn bans are useful for:

  • Preventing interference during boss fights or cutscenes
  • Controlling difficulty in custom arenas
  • Testing custom encounters without unwanted mobs
  • Protecting specific areas from natural spawning

Note that spawn bans do not affect already-spawned entities—use /eca remove <targets> to clear existing mobs. Combine spawn bans with /eca lockLocation and /eca setForceLoading to create controlled boss arenas where only your scripted encounters occur.
