How to Change Entity View Distance In-Game (Video Settings)

Opening the Entity Distance Settings

You do not need to edit config files to change how far entities render. Everything is exposed through the vanilla-style video options menu.

1. Press Esc to open the pause menu.

2. Click Options..., then Video Settings....

3. Scroll until you find the Entity Distance Settings button (it sits alongside the other video toggles).

4. Click it to open a list of entity categories.

Adjusting Individual Entity Distances

Inside the Entity Distance Settings screen you will see entries grouped by entity type — things like item frames, armor stands, paintings, and other categories the mod tracks. Each entry has a slider or value you can drag to set how far away that entity becomes visible.

  • Drag a slider left to shorten the distance (better performance, entities pop in sooner).
  • Drag a slider right to lengthen it (you see entities from farther away, at a cost to performance).
  • Use the search or scroll bar to find a specific entity if the list is long.

Changes apply immediately, so you can walk around and watch entities appear or disappear as you tune values. If you want a single global change instead of per-entity tweaks, look for the overall distance control at the top of the screen. When you are happy, back out of the menus — the mod remembers your choices between sessions.
