How to Hide Your Armor While Keeping Its Protection
Opening the Armor Settings
With Show Me Your Skin! installed, open your inventory and look for the mod's settings button or keybind (check your Controls menu if you don't see it). This opens a panel listing every armor slot you're currently wearing, plus your elytra and shield if equipped. Each entry has its own visibility control, so you can hide a single piece without affecting the rest.
Adjusting Each Piece
For each armor slot, set visibility to hidden to make it fully invisible while you keep wearing it. Your damage reduction, durability, and enchantments all continue working normally — only the rendering changes. If you want a partial look, use the transparency slider instead of a full hide, which fades the armor rather than removing it. You can also toggle the enchantment glint separately, so a hidden chestplate won't betray itself with floating sparkle particles.
Checking the Result
Close the menu and switch to third-person view to confirm the change. Other players see the same result when the server has the mod installed and syncing is enabled. If a piece still shows, make sure you edited the correct slot — leggings and boots are easy to mix up — and confirm the setting saved rather than resetting when you closed the screen.
