Enjarai’s Show Me Your Skin! Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the armor visibility settings?
Open the mod's config screen through your mod menu's config button, or use the keybind assigned to the armor settings menu. From there you can toggle visibility and transparency per armor slot.
How do I hide my armor but keep the protection?
Set the visibility of each armor piece to hidden in the settings menu; the armor still applies its defense and durability. Only the rendering changes, so you keep full protection.
Why is my armor still showing after I hid it?
Make sure you changed the setting for the correct armor slot and that no context-sensitive rule is overriding it. If you're on a server, the server's enforced settings may take priority over your local ones.
How do I make my armor only show up during combat?
Use the context-sensitive visibility option and set it to show armor when you're in combat, hiding it otherwise. The mod detects combat automatically, so armor reappears when you take or deal damage.
Can other players see my armor settings?
On a server with the mod installed, your visibility settings can sync to other players so they see the same appearance you do. Without server-side support, only your own client sees the changes.
How do I sync armor visibility settings on a multiplayer server?
Install the mod on the server so settings sync across players automatically. Server admins can then enforce restrictions or lock certain options for everyone.
Can I hide my elytra or shield separately from my armor?
Yes, elytra and shields have their own visibility and transparency settings separate from armor pieces. You can hide one without affecting the other.
How do I change the enchantment glint on my armor?
In the settings menu, each piece has a glint option you can toggle or adjust independently of visibility. This lets you keep the enchanted shimmer even when the armor itself is hidden.
Does this mod work with other armor or cosmetic mods?
It generally works alongside cosmetic and armor mods, but two mods trying to control the same armor rendering can conflict. If armor looks wrong, try disabling the other mod's armor rendering feature.
Does hiding armor affect performance or cause lag?
The mod only changes how armor is rendered, so performance impact is minimal. Hiding armor can actually reduce rendering work slightly, and syncing settings on a server adds negligible overhead.
