Customizing Elytra and Shield Appearance

Finding the Elytra and Shield Options

Elytra and shields are handled as separate entries in the mod's settings, not as part of the four armor slots. Open the configuration panel and scroll past the helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots to find the dedicated elytra and shield controls. Each has its own visibility and transparency settings, so you can hide a shield in your offhand while keeping your chest armor visible, or the reverse.

Hiding or Fading Them

Set the elytra to hidden if you want your back skin to show while gliding, or use transparency for a ghostly translucent wing effect. For shields, hiding removes the large offhand model that often blocks your view, which many players do purely for screen clarity during combat. The enchantment glint toggle applies here too, letting you strip the shimmer from an enchanted elytra or shield independently of the armor pieces.

Things to Watch For

Hiding the elytra doesn't affect flight — you still glide exactly the same. Hiding a shield doesn't change blocking; it only removes the visual. If you use a resource pack that retextures these items, the mod's transparency still applies on top of it. Verify changes in third-person view, since the elytra is easiest to check while airborne and the shield while sneaking or blocking.
