Get the Best Enchantments on Your First Pickaxe

Finding Compatible Enchantments

Not all enchantments work well together on tools. Before you start enchanting, decide what you want your pickaxe to do: mine faster, break stone instantly, or work in a larger area.

Applying Enchantments

1. Open an Enchanting Table and place your pickaxe in the slot

2. Look at the available enchantments—hover over each to read its full effect using Enchantment Descriptions

3. Choose enchantments that complement each other. For example, pair a speed boost with an area-mining enchantment

4. Apply one enchantment at a time by clicking it

5. Use an Anvil to combine multiple enchanted books onto your pickaxe if you want more than one power

Important Limitation

If your mod has DoLimitLegendaryEnchantsToOne enabled, you can only place one legendary-tier enchantment per item. Check which enchantments are legendary before investing resources—you may need to choose between a powerful single ability or multiple smaller ones.

Test your pickaxe on different block types to see which enchantments feel most useful for your playstyle.
