How do I start my first backup?
Press B to open the backup management screen, or type /jeb now in chat to create an instant backup immediately. Both methods will save your world without interrupting gameplay.
What's the difference between full, partial, and differential backups?
Full backups save your entire world folder. Partial backups save only files that changed since the last full backup, using less storage. Differential backups store changes in a separate slot while keeping the original base save, so you can restore to any point in the chain.
Will backups slow down my server?
No—the mod uses multiple CPU worker threads to compress and scan files in the background without blocking world performance. Automatic backups also pause when no players are online to avoid unnecessary processing.
How do I set up automatic daily backups?
Press N to open the configuration menu and adjust the backup timers for each backup type (full, partial, differential). The mod will then run saves on your chosen schedule and send warning notices to players before each backup starts.
Can I restore my world without losing my current progress?
No—restoring a backup shuts down the server safely and replaces your current world with the saved version. Always create a fresh backup of your current world first if you want to preserve it.
What happens if my hard drive runs out of space?
The mod checks free disk space before starting any new save and will not proceed if space is too low. Set a maximum storage size cap per world in the configuration menu to prevent backups from filling your drive.
How do I delete old backups to free up space?
Press B to open the backup management screen, select a save from the list, and choose delete. You can also set a count limit in the configuration to automatically keep only a specific number of recent saves.
Can I rename a backup after it's created?
Yes—press B to open the backup management screen, select the save you want to rename, and choose the rename option. Custom names help you identify important saves at a glance.
What does 'safety save' mean?
The mod automatically creates safety saves when your server starts or stops to protect against unexpected shutdowns or crashes during those critical moments.
How do I see when my next scheduled backup will run?
Type /jeb next in chat to display the upcoming scheduled backup times for all backup types. You can also press N to view and adjust the timers in the configuration menu.
