Navigate the End Caves Safely

Prepare Before Descending

The End Caves generate from Y-level 0 to 128, creating a vast underground network beneath the End dimension. Before exploring, bring:

• Multiple stacks of blocks for building bridges and escape routes
• Food and healing items
• A pickaxe (stone or better) to mine through obstacles
• A sword for combat with Endermen and other hostile mobs
• Torches or lanterns to light your path and mark directions

Explore Systematically

End Caves can be disorienting due to their complex layout. To avoid getting lost:

1. Place torches on one side of walls as you descend—always on your right or left

2. Build a vertical pillar or staircase down rather than free-falling through open caverns

3. Mark major intersections with distinctive block structures

4. Keep your spawn point in mind; consider setting a bed in a safe chamber

5. Map out major cave branches mentally or on paper

Bedrock generates at both Y-level 0 (floor) and Y-level 128 (roof), so you cannot dig beyond these boundaries. Watch for sudden drops and open caverns when mining horizontally.
