Find End Cities and Strongholds in Cave Terrain
Understand Cave Generation Changes
With End Caves active, the End dimension uses cave world generation instead of the standard floating island terrain. This affects where End Cities and other structures naturally generate. End Cities may be less common or positioned differently than in vanilla End exploration, as they typically spawn on the surface of the old terrain.
Search Strategy
1. Explore higher cave levels (closer to Y-level 128) where structures are more likely to generate
2. Look for larger open caverns and chamber systems—End Cities often occupy significant spaces
3. Use the presence of End biomes as a guide; structures correlate with biome distribution
4. Listen for ambient sounds and watch for unusual architecture
Alternative Approach
If structures are difficult to locate in caves, consider:
- Creating a secondary world with standard End generation to locate coordinates
- Using the End dimension's unique biomes as landmarks for systematic exploration
- Focusing on cave systems at higher Y-levels where generation is less dense
