How to Use Cushioning Arrows for Safe Fall Landings

What Cushioning Does

Cushioning is a utility enchantment that lets you negate fall damage by creating a safe landing zone. You apply it to arrows, then shoot the arrow at a block before jumping from heights.

Setting Up Your Shot

Obtain a Cushioning enchanted book and apply it to arrows using an anvil. You'll need multiple arrows since each shot creates one landing spot. Position yourself near the edge of the high place you plan to jump from.

Executing the Jump

Shoot your Cushioning arrow at a block directly below where you plan to land. The arrow marks a safe zone that will absorb your fall damage when you jump. Time your jump so you land on or very near the marked spot.

Practical Uses

Use Cushioning when exploring tall structures, escaping danger from height, or navigating treacherous terrain. It's especially useful in the End when dealing with Endermen or falling into the void. Keep a stack of Cushioning arrows in your inventory during dangerous expeditions. This enchantment gives you mobility and safety that potions alone cannot provide.
