How do I get my first new enchantment?
Place any item in an enchanting table and use lapis lazuli like normal—new enchantments will appear alongside vanilla ones. You can also find enchanted books by fishing, exploring structures, or having a Sniffer dig in dirt blocks.
What's the difference between finding books in chests vs enchanting table?
The enchanting table gives you random enchantments based on your level, while structure chests contain rare and specific books you won't easily get otherwise. Fishing and Sniffer digging offer another way to hunt for particular effects without needing high enchanting levels.
Can I use these enchantments on any item?
No, each enchantment only works on specific item types—for example, Sand Strider only works on boots, and Windshear only works on Elytra. Check the enchantment description to see which gear it's compatible with.
How does Heartguard actually save me?
When your health drops below two hearts, Heartguard automatically triggers to restore health and give you temporary protection. You need to equip the enchanted item (usually armor) and let your health get critically low for the effect to activate.
Do negative curses actually hurt me or are they just cosmetic?
Curses apply real stat penalties and negative effects to your gear, making them genuinely harmful. You can avoid them by being selective about which books you use, or accept the tradeoff if the positive enchantments are worth it.
Which structures have the rarest enchantment books?
Ancient Cities and Desert Pyramids contain some of the rarest books, but Woodland Mansions, End Cities, and Bastions also have valuable finds. Explore multiple structure types to increase your chances of finding specific enchantments you want.
Does Sand Strider break my boots permanently?
Sand Strider slowly degrades your boots while active, so they will eventually break if you use the effect constantly. You'll need to repair or replace them regularly if you rely on this enchantment for travel.
How do I use Cushioning arrows correctly?
Shoot a Cushioning arrow at a block on the ground before you fall from a height, and it creates a safe landing spot that absorbs fall damage. You need to time it so the arrow lands where you'll actually land.
Can I combine multiple enchantments on one item with an anvil?
Yes, you can use an anvil to combine enchanted books with gear just like vanilla Minecraft, allowing you to stack multiple new effects on a single item. Be aware that anvil costs increase with each combination.
Do these enchantments work on horse and wolf armor?
Yes, the mod includes special enchantments designed for horse and wolf armor to give your pets extra protection and benefits. These work the same way as enchanting regular gear—through tables, books, or exploration.
