How to Change the /ec Command Prefix in the Config

When you need to change it

The default command is /ec. If another mod or a server plugin already uses that prefix, your command may conflict or fail to run. The mod lets you rename the prefix so it no longer clashes.

Editing the config

1. Locate the mod's config file in your Minecraft config folder. It is a plain text file you can open in any text editor.

2. Find the setting named enchantCommandString.

3. Change its value from the default to whatever prefix you prefer — for example, a longer or more unique word that no other mod uses.

4. Save the file.

5. Restart the game (or reload the config, if your setup supports it) so the change takes effect.

Using the new prefix

After restarting, replace /ec with your new string everywhere. So /ec enchant <enchantment> <level> becomes /<yourprefix> enchant <enchantment> <level>. Tab autocompletion still works the same way.

Notes

  • Do not include the leading slash in the config value — the game adds that automatically. Enter just the word itself.
  • Keep it short and memorable. A prefix you can type quickly is more useful than a long one, as long as it does not collide with anything else.
  • On a server, the config is server-side. If you are a player rather than the operator, ask whoever runs the server to make the change, since your local config will not affect the server's command.
