Enchanting Commands Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I enchant an item with commands in this mod?
Hold the item in your main hand and run /ec enchant . The enchantment is applied directly to the held item, so you don't need an anvil or enchanting table.
Why does /ec not work on my server?
The command prefix may have been changed in the config, or another mod is already using /ec. Check the enchantCommandString setting in the config and use whatever prefix is set there, or change it to something unique.
Can I enchant a stick or other non-tool item?
Yes. The mod applies enchantments to whatever is in your main hand, so you can put things like Knockback on a stick or Sharpness on a piece of paper.
How do I get enchantment levels above 255?
Just type the level you want after the enchantment name, like /ec enchant sharpness 1000. The mod accepts levels far beyond the vanilla cap, so there's no special syntax needed.
Does the mod work with enchantments from other mods?
Yes, modded enchantments are supported as long as they're registered. Press Tab while typing the enchantment name to see the available options from your installed mods.
How do I change the /ec command to something else?
Open the mod's config file and edit the enchantCommandString option to your preferred prefix. Restart or reload so the new command takes effect.
Why does Tab autocomplete not show the enchantment I want?
Autocomplete only lists enchantments that are registered on your client and server. If a modded enchantment is missing, make sure the mod adding it is installed on both sides.
Can I remove an enchantment with this mod?
The mod is focused on applying enchantments, not removing them. To clear an enchantment you'd typically need to use another method like a grindstone or a different command tool.
Does enchanting with commands work in multiplayer or on a server?
Yes, as long as you have permission to run the command on that server. The mod needs to be installed on the server for the command to function, and clients need it for autocomplete.
Will super high enchantment levels lag my game or crash it?
Extremely high levels can cause performance issues or unexpected behavior because vanilla mechanics weren't designed for them. Stick to reasonable values if you notice lag or crashes.
