How to Apply Enchantment Levels Above 255 (Beyond Vanilla Limits)
Why high levels work here
Vanilla Minecraft caps enchantment levels at a low number and the anvil refuses to combine past that. This mod bypasses those caps entirely: the level you type into the command is the level the item receives. You can push an enchantment far past the vanilla ceiling, into the hundreds or higher, and the item keeps working.
Doing it
1. Hold the target item in your main hand.
2. Run /ec enchant <enchantment> <level>, replacing <level> with the number you want.
3. Press Enter. The tooltip updates to show the new level.
Things to keep in mind
- Not every enchantment scales forever. Some effects, like Sharpness or Protection, keep getting stronger as the number rises. Others, like Fortune, may stop producing better results past a certain point because the game logic behind them has its own internal limits. Test on a throwaway item first if you are unsure.
- Extreme levels can be unstable. Very large numbers may cause lag, strange behavior, or crashes depending on the enchantment and your setup. Increase gradually rather than jumping straight to an enormous value.
- Multiplayer servers may reject or clamp values. If you are not the operator or the server has its own rules, the command may fail or the level may be reduced.
Start with a modest boost, confirm the effect behaves as expected, then raise it.
