Emotecraft Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I open the emote menu in Emotecraft?
Press the emote menu keybind, which defaults to B, to open the emote wheel. If B is already taken by another mod or your inventory, rebind it in the controls settings under the Emotecraft category.
How do I perform an emote?
Open the emote wheel with your keybind, then click or scroll to the emote you want and release or confirm to play it. Your character will animate immediately, and nearby players with the mod will see it too.
Why can't other players see my emotes?
Emotes only display for players who also have Emotecraft installed and are within render distance. If they have the mod and still can't see you, make sure the emote file is present on their client, since custom emotes aren't transferred automatically.
How do I stop an emote once it's playing?
Most emotes end on their own, but you can interrupt one by moving, jumping, or performing another action. Opening the emote wheel and selecting a different emote will also replace the current one.
How do I add custom emotes that I downloaded?
Place the emote file into the emotes folder inside your Minecraft or Emotecraft config directory, then reload emotes from the in-game menu or restart the game. The new emote should appear in your wheel once loaded.
Can other players use my custom emotes?
Only if they have the same emote file installed on their own client. Emotecraft doesn't sync custom emote files between players, so you'll need to share the file with anyone who wants to see or use it.
Does Emotecraft work on a server?
Emotecraft works on servers, but each player needs the mod installed client-side to see and perform emotes. Some servers run a server-side component so emotes broadcast correctly to everyone with the mod.
Is Emotecraft compatible with other animation or player model mods?
It generally works alongside most mods, but mods that change the player model or skeleton, like certain skin or rig mods, can cause emotes to look broken. If animations glitch, try testing with only Emotecraft enabled to isolate the conflict.
Why are my emotes laggy or stuttering?
Complex custom emotes with many bones or keyframes can be heavy on lower-end machines. Lowering your render distance or using simpler emotes usually smooths things out, and reducing the number of players emoting nearby helps too.
How do I create my own emote?
Use the Emotecraft editor, either the in-game editor or the standalone one, to pose the player model and set keyframes over time. Save the result as an emote file, then drop it into your emotes folder to use it in-game.
