EMI Loot Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the EMI Loot view for a chest?
Hover over the chest item or block in EMI's item list and press the recipe/uses key you normally use for EMI. The loot view appears as an extra tab alongside the crafting and usage tabs, showing every possible drop sorted by percentage.
Why do some chest drops show as a percentage list instead of individual items?
When a loot table has more entries than fit on screen, EMI Loot condenses items that share the same drop chance into a single stacked list. Hover over that list to expand it and see the individual stacks you could actually receive.
What does the stack size number next to a chest drop mean?
It represents the average amount of that item you can expect to pull in one roll, before the drop probability is applied. It is not the maximum stack size — it is the expected count per successful roll.
How do I see mob drops in EMI Loot?
Look up the mob's spawn egg or its entity in EMI and open the loot/uses tab. Drops are split into categories based on the conditions required, such as whether the mob was killed by a player or burned to death.
Why does a mob show different drop categories?
Each category represents a different set of circumstances — for example, drops that only appear when killed by a player versus drops that always appear. Check the category label to know which condition you need to meet.
How do I see block drops for Silk Touch or Shears in EMI Loot?
Open the block's loot view in EMI and look at the separate categories. Each category is labeled with the tool or condition needed, so you can tell at a glance which drops require Silk Touch, Shears, or a normal tool.
Does EMI Loot show drops added by other mods?
Yes. EMI Loot reads the actual loot tables, so any mod that adds entries to a chest, mob, or block loot table will have those drops appear in the view automatically.
Why is a chest's loot view empty or missing?
Some chests use loot tables that are generated at world creation or are tied to structures that have not been visited, so EMI may not have data to show. Also make sure the chest actually uses a loot table rather than hardcoded contents.
Can I use EMI Loot to plan a farming or looting route?
Yes. Search a mob or block, check its drop categories and percentages, then prioritize the targets with the drops you need. The percentage sorting makes it easy to see which sources give the best odds.
Does EMI Loot affect game performance or cause lag?
EMI Loot only reads loot table data when you open a loot view, so it does not run during normal gameplay. If you notice slowdown, it is usually from having many mods loaded rather than from EMI Loot itself.
