How to Equip an Elytra in the Elytra Slot Mod

Finding the New Slot

Once the mod is installed, open your inventory. A dedicated Elytra slot appears next to the regular armor slots on the left side of the player model. This slot is separate from the chestplate slot, so you no longer have to choose between wings and armor.

Placing the Elytra

1. Pick up your Elytra in the inventory screen.

2. Hover over the new slot and place it there, exactly as you would place a chestplate in the chest slot.

3. Put your chestplate in the normal chest armor slot.

4. Close the inventory and jump off a high place to confirm you can glide.

The Elytra now functions normally for gliding, while the chestplate keeps providing its defense value. If you want to swap wings quickly, you can also right-click the slot with the Elytra in hand in most inventory screens.

What Stays the Same

Flight mechanics, firework boosting, and durability loss on the Elytra are unchanged. Only the location of the item changes. If the Elytra does not appear in the slot after you place it, check that you are not wearing another mod's conflicting chest item and that the slot is not being hidden by a resource pack or GUI mod.
