Build a Knockback Sword Without Curse of the Wind
The Knockback Problem
Curse of the Wind deals massive knockback but completely cancels all damage you deal. This makes it useless for actual combat—enemies fly away without taking harm. If you want knockback without this downside, use Wind Aspect instead.
Wind Aspect vs. Curse of the Wind
Wind Aspect:
- Knocks attacked entities *toward* you (pulls them close)
- Deals normal damage
- Can be applied to swords
- Incompatible with: Fire Aspect, Frost Aspect, Earth Aspect
Curse of the Wind:
- Knocks entities away from you
- Deals zero damage (curse effect)
- Incompatible with: Knockback enchantment, Wind Aspect
Recommended Setup
Enchant your sword with Wind Aspect for practical combat. This pulls enemies closer instead of pushing them away, giving you better control during fights. Combine it with other damage-boosting enchantments like Dark Aspect or Light Aspect (depending on your playstyle) for a well-rounded weapon. Avoid Curse of the Wind entirely unless you're experimenting with curse-based builds.
