Electric Mace Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get a mace with Channeling?
You need to enchant a mace with the Channeling enchantment using an enchanting table, anvil, or enchanted book. Once applied, your mace will be able to strike lightning when conditions are met.
Why isn't my Channeling mace striking lightning?
Lightning strikes only occur during thunderstorms and only when you hit a mob after falling at least 1.5 blocks. Make sure both conditions are met—clear weather will prevent strikes even with a valid fall height.
Do I need to be falling to use Channeling on a mace?
Yes, you must fall at least 1.5 blocks before hitting a mob for the lightning to strike. Simply attacking a mob while standing still will not trigger the effect.
Can I use a Channeling mace outside of thunderstorms?
No, Channeling maces only work during thunderstorms, just like Channeling tridents. You'll need to wait for a storm or use a different weapon in clear weather.
Is a Channeling mace better than a Channeling trident?
They have different advantages: maces trigger lightning on fall attacks during storms, while tridents can strike lightning by throwing them during storms. Choose based on your playstyle and whether you prefer melee or ranged combat.
Can I use a Channeling mace for mob farming?
Yes, you can use a Channeling mace to farm mobs during thunderstorms by falling and attacking, though you'll need to wait for storms and ensure mobs are positioned below you.
Does Channeling work on maces in the Nether or End?
Channeling only works during thunderstorms, which don't occur in the Nether or End, so the enchantment will not function in those dimensions.
What happens if I hit a mob with a Channeling mace but don't meet the fall requirement?
Nothing special happens—the mace acts as a normal weapon and no lightning will strike, even if it's raining.
Can I combine Channeling with other mace enchantments?
Yes, you can apply Channeling alongside other enchantments on a mace using an anvil or by combining enchanted books, just like with any other weapon.
Does the lightning from a Channeling mace damage me?
No, the lightning summoned by Channeling only damages the mob you struck, not you or nearby players.
