How to Tune Eldritch Mob Spawn Rates and Difficulty in the Config
Find the Config File
The mod ships with a config file that controls how often Eldritch variants spawn and how dangerous they are. Locate it in your Minecraft instance's config folder after running the game once with the mod installed. Open it with a plain text editor.
What You Can Adjust
Typical options in this style of mod include:
- Spawn chance: the probability that a hostile mob spawns as an Eldritch variant instead of a normal one. Lower it for a gentler world; raise it for a brutal one.
- Health scaling tiers: the mod applies bonus health in tiers (the wiki describes several tiers of extra health). You can usually restrict which tiers are allowed.
- Modifier toggles: enable or disable specific modifiers like Berserker, Alchemist, or Toxic if one is ruining your experience.
- Boss/elite settings: control whether the strongest variants can spawn and how their loot and XP bonuses behave.
Applying Changes
1. Close Minecraft completely before editing.
2. Change only one or two values at a time so you can tell what caused a difference.
3. Save the file and relaunch. If the game regenerates or overwrites the config, your edits may have been malformed — check for missing commas or quotes.
Testing
Load a fresh world or a test area and spawn mobs to confirm your new rates before committing to a survival world.
